The waiting has finally come to an end. We’re proud to present DJ Lion‘s long-awaited album ‘Le Temps De L’Amour’. The Balkan-born and now Berlin-based exceptional artist spoils us with twelve versatile and nifty tracks. After a short intro DJ Lion sets the tone with the opening track ‘Only High’ that leads the way into the album, followed by ‘Light Shooter’ which has already caused quite some noise as the second teaser for the album after ‘Reticulation’. In the following DJ Lion raises the bar. Always Techno, but by using tons of different ingredients from acid (‘Chunky Space’) to a splash of steroids (‘Jewroll’) to a pinch of love (‘Le Temps De L’Amour’) he manages to keep the album diverse and always gripping. With ‘Epiphonema’ and its kinky synth lines DJ Lion shows us a more freaky side of him before he perfectly finishes off the journey. DJ Lion demonstrates the capability of a techno album to tell a story from start to finish without ever losing its primary focus: to inspire and thrill the listeners
You Record are proud to present their eleventh release, the ‘Kant Straße’ EP by S Katz aka Katsuhiko. From 2016 – 2017 he was granted the opportunity to produce multiple tracks at a studio on KantStraße in Berlin using hardware supplied by Dandy Jack, with whom the space is shared, and his dear friend Mathew Jonson. Opening track is a groove-driven roller with robotic glitches talking a language of their own. ‘Hats and Steps’ is a versatile dancefloor cut replete with subtle details and layered rhythms. ‘Forest In Me’ takes a trippy journey to the afterhours with immersive field recordings and entrancing blips. Closing the EP is ‘You Are In The Display’, a truly weird vocoder-led track with swung percussion and a shuffling bass melody. This EP serves as a prologue to S Katz’s forthcoming album.
On “Get Up, Get Out Into The Rain”, the Berlin-based NAOMI are approaching the Alternative House genre – starting with the beat and ending up at the emotion. At the same time, however, the duo is avoiding everything which is too cool or hip. Worked out really well – and the bass, beg your pardon, is sexy as fuck. With “Get Up, Get Out Into The Rain”, Nico Tobias and Bernd Lechler have written a song about childhood and even meditate over naivity and optimism: to derive enjoyment from annoyances and to recognize the potential of failures, making lemonade when the world is throwing lemons at you. At the same time, the song is the harbinger of the upcoming sixth album “Swim”, which is to be released in September and is much more relaxed, more elegant and more reduced than its predecessors, proving again: thanks to their diverse sound, Naomi are one of the acts in electronic music that is definitely not to be missed!
