Some nights are just pure magic!
In October of 2017, hard rock titans Alter Bridge took to the stage of the iconic Royal Albert Hall in London for two very special headline shows.
Myles Kennedy, Mark Tremonti, Brian Marshall and Scott Phillips treated the capacity crowds to selections from their entire musical catalog.
The set list included some of the band’s biggest hits; rarities and even a few songs the band had never previously performed live.
Adding another career first for the band, Alter Bridge was joined on stage by conductor Simon Dobson and the 52-piece Parallax Orchestra.
Together, everyone on stage during those two extraordinary nights treated the combined crowd of over 10,000 fans to an unforgettable music experience.
Now those two performances have been combined in to one full length, epic concert that is to be shared with fans around the globe in Alter Bridge: Live At The Royal Albert Hall.
Let’s bet honest: unfortunately many artists and labels have thrown so many best of albums on the market over the years that the original idea behing it suffered a lot. We, the FCKNG SERIOUS family have had an incredible year with countless shows and countless memories hat cannot be put into accurate words. But since it all starts with the music anyways we consider this selection of favorite tracks a chance to recall this FCKNG amazing year.
We’re FCKNG SERIOUS and so not done yet. Let’s take off for the next round.
Beyond The Black – energetic, straight forward, uncompromising, symphonic metal.
Where others still lose themselves in colorful descriptions, this band has already set its next course and is heading with full force right into the “Heart Of The Hurricane”. The title of the third album is metaphorically where Beyond The Black feel they are – and 2018 is going to be the year in which this charismatic outfit based around Jennifer Haben explores what they describe as ‘the stylistic limitations of extremes: where on the one hand the screws of hardness are tightened again by several turns; and on the other hand a previously unprecedented catchiness dominates the pieces’.
Beyond The Black continue with their unerring sense of gripping melodies, mixed up with pulverizing blast beats, rousing neck breaker riffs, epic keyboard passages, and elaborately arranged strings and choral settings. From the atmospheric gloomy heaviness (“Through The Mirror”, “My God Is Dead”), the band spans the stylistic arc of their distinctive Metal-meets-Medieval sound (“Scream For Me”, “Song For The Godless”) to the bittersweet acoustic ballad “Breeze”. Together, the huge mix of elf-like vocals and deep-set growls create a bombastic widescreen production – from the heart into the fingers or “from the heart into the vocal chords”, as singer Jennifer says.
Stripped Down Records continues with munimuni & Seelenwald and featuring stellar remixes from label founder Claudio Ricci as well as Sasse, Tiefschwarz and Kollektiv Turmstrasse. The excellent original is ‘Missing Link’, a strikingly emotional track with slow, lurching drums and a menacing bassline. These are five fantastically expressive and emotive tracks that bring a whole new world of feelings to the dance floor.
Everything was better in the old days” has always been questionable. Music-wise we have seen major developments across the genres from the eighties until today. One track that defnitely ruled the clubs in the early years was Transform’s “Transformation“. Justifably considered an absolute cult hit, it seemed reasonable to see if a contemporary remix of such a classic could turn today’s dancefoors upside down just as well as original did in the past. And hear for yourselves, it can! The original with its raw, puristic and light-footed vibe, spiced up with a hypnotic acid line and topped off with its famous vocal snippet that burned itself into the minds of millions of ravers in the glorious 90s, can certainly be labeled “timeless”. Andreas Krüger aka “Der Dritte Raum” takes “Transformation” into the 21st century in the tried and tested way that we’ve always known and respected this gentleman for: hypnotic, driving and incredibly sophisticated. This remix honors the original and promises to become a hit itself!
Calling an EP “Devil” although it will most certainly conjure a smile on the face of any electronic music enthusiast might come as a surprise, or even cause confusion. But let’s be fucking serious, when Boris Brejcha picked this title, he had probably no evil thoughts in mind but was rather daydreaming of one of his many shows that are known to turn any club into a diabolically hot sweat lodge due to the energetic atmosphere and ecstatic crows. So in the end you could arque that the title of his new EP seems long overdue. Meet the “Devil” and the humble man behind the EP: meet Boris Brejcha.

With new track ‘Warschauer Strasse’, Claudio Ricci has created an expansive seven minute workout of twisted synths and deep house drums. The first remix comes from long time techno heavyweight Timo Maas and the prolific and inventive Basti Grub. Their singular remix speeds up the original and layers in fluttering toms and percussive sounds as well as broad, groaning synths and the distant sound of a bustling city at rush hour. Sudam label boss and Ibiza based artist Kintar flips the track into something spacious and haunting. Eerie keys and sweeping synths keep you on edge as the rubbery techno groove rolls on into the night. Bulgarian based Metodi Hristov loves to experiment and has a distinctive techno style that gains support from the likes of Richie Hawtin, Carl Cox and Adam Beyer. In his hands the track becomes a peak time tech banger!
